Frequently Asked Questions

what is a DOCUmentary film?

When we edit a DOCUMENTARY FILM, we put all the footage together according to the timeline of the day, which includes your preparation, ceremony, reception & even those in-between moments. It is like a well-crafted documentary film of your wedding day.

The length of a typical documentary film is over 90-120 minutes (or more) depending on coverage hours and the duration of the formalities.

what is a keepsake film?

We will select the highlights of the day to retell your wedding in a creative way. We tend to keep the ambient sound when the vibe is right,

and the audio quality is allowed to go with a song/music we feel is most suitable for you.

It will be approx. 5-8 mins. approx but also depending on the length of our coverage.

Check out some of our short films here.

WHAT IS YOUR USUAL TURNAROUND TIME?

Appx 12-16 weeks (except for the social media teaser which will be made available to you in the first week post-wedding:)

WHO WILL BE OUR CINEMATOGRAPHER?

We have Clair, Evan, Mavis, Jack, Kann, Danny, and Shawn. We work closely as a family, and we follow the same approach and aesthetic.

And usually, Mavis and Clair are the ones doing the final magic putting all the clips together using magic and turning them into the final pieces.

WHO PICK THE MUSIC FOR THE FILM?

We would be happy to get suggestions from you for music used in your wedding film. However, it may not be possible for us to use certain pieces due to copyright issue. Also we think it is a part of our creative process to select the right music to best tell your story.

DO YOU PROVIDE RAW FILES?

We value our work very much, and we'd like every film we send to our couples to be presentable, just like a chef provides a delicious meal with good ingredients & some magic seasoning to make foodies happy.:)

Rather than provide raw files to our couple, we will make it magically into a documentary film for you to watch for the years to come :)

DO YOU FILM INTERNATIONAL WEDDINGS?

Yeah! We are happy to travel anywhere in the world to capture the moments for you! To prove that, We are even happy to offer reduced package prices to help you cover some travel expenses.

How long will you need from us on the day?

Let’s start by breaking your day into four parts.

Getting ready - Ceremony - Location photos/ downtime - Reception

People often ask us - is it really worth having you there for the preparation and we always say yes!

This is where we capture all the little moments that you are too busy to see for yourself. The look on your parent’s faces when they see you all dressed up. The groomsmen, being boys, chilling out and doing what guys do. The bridesmaids bounced around in excitement. The hugs. The happy tears. The nervous anticipation - all of it. You will love being able to replay these moments, later.

Let’s say 1 hour of coverage for the girls, and 30 - 40 minutes for the boys.

Now - ceremony.

This is pretty easy to account for. Most ceremonies take about half an hour. And we need at least 30 mins before the official start in order to set up the audio, tripod etc.

Now add 30 minutes for family and group photos after the ceremony.

After the ceremony, you’ll probably want to get some photos together - and with your bridal party, if you have one. We also want you to get a little rest. Allow a couple of hours, so you are not rushed. Let’s pick locations without too much travel time in between, so we can make the most of it.

Now, we’re ready to party!

How long we stay for the reception is all about planning your party carefully.
If you can get all the important formalities over early in the night - your speeches, first dance, cake cutting etc - we can leave before the end, and you can relax. This will save you money - and allow you to relax and enjoy the celebrations.

When you have added all this up, you will need to take into account all the travel time between where you are getting ready and the ceremony, then the ceremony and portrait session locations, and then to the reception. If you need make up touch-ups, add that in - and if you have tea ceremonies, or cultural celebrations - let’s talk about those, too.

I  know it seems like a lot - but if you get confused - we are here to help! Feel free to ask questions.
